The History of Baum Baum Hydraulics has been a customer-driven Wholesale Distributor for over 140 years.  Our history began when the settlers started moving West. Baum originally provided horseshoes, anvils, wooded spokes to wagons and buckboards. In the mid-fifties, Baum provided its customers with a Red Book Catalog offering hydraulics for the first time. By the mid-sixties Baum entered the ball bearing business along with hydraulic and power transmissions.
In 1969, the Red Book became a registered name for the Baum Iron Catalog. In 1970, customers wanted quick answers by phone. We were one of the first to offer a Toll Free 800 number. In 1982, our growing customer base needed detailed technical information about the products they were ordering. Experienced outbound and inbound specialists were hired to provide knowledge to customers at no charge. In 1989, customers wanted to fax orders or quotes any time of day or night. Baum Hydraulic answered with a Toll Free, 24 hour FAX service along with its Toll Free Watts lines. As the world progresses year-to-year Baum still provides all of the advancements mentioned above. Today, Baum is stepping up to the plate with an e-commerce Website to make it easy to research, order and buy online. |
